Happy Birthday for InKing Royalty Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s February Blog Hop! This is a great time of year to build your stash of handmade birthday cards, so we are sharing birthday-themed projects with you today. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I’ve been busier than usual this month so my card is quick, simple, and easy to reproduce.  I made my card using the Blessings of Home Bundle and the coordinating Heart & Home Memories & Home Card Pack.  The card bases and envelopes are versatile enough for guy or gal cards.

Supplies
Card Base and Envelope-These cards are a bit larger than an A2 card.
White Frayed Ribbon
Misty Moonlight Cardstock and Ink Pad
Basic White Cardstock
Classic Matte Dots
Harvest Dies
VersaMark Ink Pad
White embossing powder
Heat tool
Dimensionals
Tear and Tape
Stampin ‘ Cut and Emboss Machine

Process
1. Stamp the large flower stamp from the Blessings of Home Stamp Set on a piece of Misty Moonlight Cardstock with VersaMark ink.
2.  Sprinkle the cardstock with white embossing powder, tap off the extra and set with the heat tool.
3.  Die cut the finished piece using the coordinating die from the bundle and the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.
3.  Cut a 5 1/2 in. piece of the Frayed Ribbon and attach to the card front with Tear and Tape.
4.  Adhere the die cut piece using Dimensionals.
5.  Stamp the sentiment on a piece of Basic White Cardstock with Misty Moonlight Ink.
6.  Die cut the sentiment using the die from the Harvest Dies.
7.  Adhere to the card front.
8.  Embellish the finished card front with a sprinkling of Classic Matte Dots.

June InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s June Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are enjoying a year of celebrations. This month’s projects celebrate the 4th of July – the projects are inspirational, patriotic and filled with reds, whites and blues. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Who doesn’t enjoy a 4th of July celebration?!  I have a friend who really loves the 4th because his birthday is on the same day as our country’s.  He is a no fuss kind of guy, so I have made a quick and easy card for him.  Here’s my card:

I chose the new stamp set, Happiest of Birthdays to take center stage on my card.  The bold font hops right off of the card front!

My friend is going to like the color combo of Misty Moonlight, Whisper White and Real Red – traditional colors for this special holiday.

The Real Red background was created with the Buffalo Check background stamp.  I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time getting the image of this stamp straight, even with the Stamparatus.  Nothing looks worse than a crooked plaid!  I also wanted the dark squares of the image around the outside.  I got around it by inserting a 6 x 6 in. piece of Whisper White in the Stamparatus.  I stamped the image and then trimmed to get the part of the image I wanted.

I popped up my sentiment with Dimensionals and added a couple of Star Designer Elements and that’s it!  I think my friend will like his card and I hope you do too!

Tropical Birthday for InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Hello!

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s February Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are enjoying a year of celebrations. This month’s projects celebrate birthdays, so prepare yourself for a wonderful mix of celebratory cards. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I’m crushin’ on the Tropical Oasis Suite in the Mini Catalog!  I used it today to make my birthday card.  Take a look:

I just love this sheet from the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper!  Such fun!

Here are the details:

  • The card base is Crumb Cake.
  • The Mint Macaron pieces are 4 in. x 5 1/4 in. and 1 in. x 4 in.
  • The DSP measures 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.
  • The sentiment is from the Geared Up Garage Suite and stamped in Early Espresso. (I love it when you can incorporate more than one stamp set on a card.)
  • I used 3 in. of the Braided Burlap Trim and frayed it at both ends.  I put Tear & Tape on the back and adhered it to the front and back of my sentiment piece.
  • I adhered one of the Tropical Oasis Trinkets to the trim with Tear & Tape.
  • I popped up the sentiment piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

That’s it!  I hope you enjoy this blast from the past!

Let It Ride for InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s August Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by a single word – and this month our projects are centered around VACATION. While many are reminiscing about their summer vacations, others are looking forward to the long weekend just around the corner. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I live on the East Coast.  A good part of my vacation is spent with my Dad in Iowa.  I grew up there and love to catch up on the news while I’m there.  My dad raises mules and has a special sign to welcome visitors.

The Let It Ride Stamp Set reminds me of this sign and the fun times to come!  Here’s the card I made with the set.

Here’s the details:

  • The card base is made from Whisper White Thick Cardstock.
  • The next layer is Early Espresso embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder.
  • The background rectangle is Copper Foil embossed with the new Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder.  I sanded it a bit because I thought it overpowered the stamped image.
  • The image from Let It Ride is stamped with a Rich Cocoa Memento Pad.  I then colored the image using Old Olive and Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends.
  • The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set.  I stamped it in VersaMark and them embossed it with Copper Embossing Powder.
  • The 3 copper brads finish off my card and are also sanded to remove a bit of the shine.

Dad’s birthday is September 2 so this card will be on the way to him soon!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Brian King at Stamp With Brian.  There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!

Happy Hopping!  Robin
