Welcome to InKing Royalty’s June Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are enjoying a year of celebrations. This month’s projects celebrate the 4th of July – the projects are inspirational, patriotic and filled with reds, whites and blues. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
Who doesn’t enjoy a 4th of July celebration?! I have a friend who really loves the 4th because his birthday is on the same day as our country’s. He is a no fuss kind of guy, so I have made a quick and easy card for him. Here’s my card:
I chose the new stamp set, Happiest of Birthdays to take center stage on my card. The bold font hops right off of the card front!
My friend is going to like the color combo of Misty Moonlight, Whisper White and Real Red – traditional colors for this special holiday.
The Real Red background was created with the Buffalo Check background stamp. I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time getting the image of this stamp straight, even with the Stamparatus. Nothing looks worse than a crooked plaid! I also wanted the dark squares of the image around the outside. I got around it by inserting a 6 x 6 in. piece of Whisper White in the Stamparatus. I stamped the image and then trimmed to get the part of the image I wanted.
I popped up my sentiment with Dimensionals and added a couple of Star Designer Elements and that’s it! I think my friend will like his card and I hope you do too!
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Candy Ford at https://stampcandy.net/blog/. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!
Until next time, Robin

Robin, your friend will love it. I love that sentiment as it is what I usually write on the inside of the birthday cards I send. I’m excited about now having a stamp to use.
I love the buffalo check background – great tip for getting it straight on the paper (that’s the same thing I do to make sure it’s exactly where I want it). Great card, Robin! So glad you hopped with us today! ♥
Thanks Brian! I seem to be a crooked stamper, so any trick helps!
Cute card Robin – your friend will like it. The checks are perfect for the 4th of July, right? Fortunately, I have not had a problem lining this stamp up the few times I have used it, but I usually trim it a little bit, and straighten the sides of the checks then. Good luck with it, and thanks for sharing your card today.
Thanks Linda. The checks remind me of a summer picnic.
Beautiful! This makes me ready for a summer picnic! I love your tip for getting the Buffalo Check stamp on straight!
I was thinking of a picnic tablecloth too. I’m glad you can use the tip!
This is a perfect guy birthday/4th of July card, Robin!
Thanks Candy! I’m happy with the way it turned out.
I need this card for my SIL! Her birthday is on the 5th, close enough for the 4th themed card. Your friend will love it!
I’m very glad you like it, Sheryl
Love your tip on getting a straight buffalo plaid. Great card!
Sucha a cute card, Robin. Love the checked background.
