Tropical Birthday for InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Hello!

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s February Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are enjoying a year of celebrations. This month’s projects celebrate birthdays, so prepare yourself for a wonderful mix of celebratory cards. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I’m crushin’ on the Tropical Oasis Suite in the Mini Catalog!  I used it today to make my birthday card.  Take a look:

I just love this sheet from the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper!  Such fun!

Here are the details:

  • The card base is Crumb Cake.
  • The Mint Macaron pieces are 4 in. x 5 1/4 in. and 1 in. x 4 in.
  • The DSP measures 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.
  • The sentiment is from the Geared Up Garage Suite and stamped in Early Espresso. (I love it when you can incorporate more than one stamp set on a card.)
  • I used 3 in. of the Braided Burlap Trim and frayed it at both ends.  I put Tear & Tape on the back and adhered it to the front and back of my sentiment piece.
  • I adhered one of the Tropical Oasis Trinkets to the trim with Tear & Tape.
  • I popped up the sentiment piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

That’s it!  I hope you enjoy this blast from the past!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Jackie Beers at http://www.bluelinestamping.com.  There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!

Hugs!

Robin

Tropical Oasis Suite for GDP226

Hi Everyone!

I was playing with the Tropical Oasis Suite in the new Mini Catalog.  I needed some inspiration so I decided to play along with the Global Design Project challenge.  Here’s my card:

And here’s the Global Design Project Sketch:

Tips and Tricks:

  • The background is made by inking the Coastal Weave Embossing Folder in Crumb Cake and running it through my die cutting machine.
  • I colored the palm trees with Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Markers.
  • I wanted the Aloha die to stand out so I die cut it 3 times and then glued the die cuts on top of each other.
  • Linen Thread and Champagne Rhinestones completed the card.

I wish I was in the tropics right now!

Hugs!

Robin
