Sneak Peek for PPA302

I’ve been having so much fun playing with my new products from my Preorder!  I’m so excited for the wait to be over for all of you TOMORROW!  I just know you’ll have a hard time deciding what to purchase first.  The new catalog is that great!

My card today is for the PPA302 Challenge.  Nicole’s sketch had me scratching my head a bit at first, but things fell together nicely in the end.  Here’s my card:

Here is Nicole’s Sketch:
PPA-302-May26
Let me point out the new products to you:

  • Emerald Envy Ink, cardstock, and marker- Emerald Envy is one of the new In-Colors we will be exploring for the next two years.  I already love its vibrant color!
  • Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack – This stack is chock full of fun paper designs.  The black and vanilla background paper and the small green and vanilla paper piece are from this DSP stack.
  • The Happy Birthday stamp and the Party Lights stamp are from a new Stamp Set called Confetti Celebration.  All the stamps in the set are bold and festive.  This set pairs very well  with the Playful Palette DSP Stack.
The only item not new is the balloon.  It was introduced in the Occasions Catalog and has been carried over to the new Annual Catalog.  I’m so glad because the stamps from Balloon Celebration and its coordinating punch are very versatile.

Have fun placing your orders for new goodies!  If you need a demonstrator, I’d be happy to help you!

Tic-Tac-Toe for Paper Players

I am playing a Tic Tac Toe Challenge with the Paper Players today!  How fun!  With this kind of Tic Tac Toe, everyone’s a winner because they end up with a cool card.  Here’s the final result of my game:

How did I get there?  Look below:
Can you figure out which three in a row I played?  Hopefully you discovered that my card matched the bottom row.

What girl doesn’t love flowers?  I suppose girls that are deathly allergic to them, but I’m not.  And I chose a pretty pink rose for my card.

I chose to work with the rose from the Rose Wonder Stamp Set.  I stamped it in VersaMark and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Next I took a wad of Cling Wrap and used it to pounce Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo and Rose Red inks on my rose.  I repeated the same technique with the leaves.  I used Wild Wasabi, Cucumber Crush, and Garden in green to color the leaves.

I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from Rose Wonder in Melon Mambo.

Now that I had the Embossing and Girly squares covered, all I needed was a paper clip.  I added an adorable little hair bow clip under the sentiment.

For a little bling, I added a few sequins.  Again what girl doesn’t love sequins?

This was so fun to make!   Why don’t you hop over to the Paper Players and give it a try yourself?

Awesomely Artistic for FMS238 and GDP037

Hi!  I decided to get out my Awesomely Artistic Stamp set and have a go at the Freshly Make Sketches and Global Design Project Challenges.  I LOVE this set and I am THRILLED that it made it into the new catalog!

Let’s take a look at my card:

Now let’s look at the banners from both sketches.
FMS238
GDP037
I decided to make the Mint Macaron my card base.  I cut out another piece of Mint Macaron to form my sketch.  I used Mint Macaron ink and a stamp from Timeless Textures to give the cardstock some interest.

All of the rest of the stamping is done with the Awesomely Artistic Stamp Set.  I stamped the flowers on a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock in Tip Top Taupe and embossed them with clear embossing powder.  I then used my Aqua Painter and Island Indigo Ink to color them.

The dragonfly is stamped on Mint Macaron and also on vellum.  I embossed the vellum with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  I cut both out and layered the vellum dragonfly on top of the Mint Macaron one.

The sentiment is stamped in Tip Top Taupe and the word itself is stamped in the Island Indigo.

My card needed one more element to match the sketch.  I decided to make 3 retired Blossom Accents the final part of the sketch.

For the bling, I added a few sequins.

Now I have to decide which of my friends is going to get this beauty!

CASE the designer for TGIFC57

Today I’m playing along with the Thank God It’s Friday Challenge bunch.  The challenge this week is to CASE a designer or participant from any of the last 3 challenges.  It was fun looking through the past challenges and picking just the right one to CASE.

I think I picked a great one.  Here’s the card I created:

I chose to CASE Chloe Evans from Challenge 55.  Here is her card;
http://chloscraftcloset.blogspot.com/2016/05/tgif-sketch-challenge-thoughtful-banners.html
Let me point out some of the ways our cards are the same.

  • Our card bases both are sponged.  Chloe’s with hearts, mine with stars.
  • We both used DSP that was identical but with different colors.  Chloe chose papers from the Pretty Petals DSP Stack.  Mine is from the Going Places DSP Stack.
  • We both used a string of gold sequins.
Now for a couple of ways my card is different.
  • Instead of lace ribbon, I made a Sailor’s Knot from Very Vanilla Thick Baker’s Twine.
  • My sentiment is from the Project Life, Remember This Stamp Set.
  • My DSP is mounted on a piece of Delightful Dijon Cardstock.
Chloe, thanks for letting me CASE your beautiful artwork today!  Check out the other designers at http://tgifchallenges.blogspot.com/.

The one that didn’t get away for PCCCS196

I have a friend who spends most of the summer with his wife on their boat.  He has a birthday coming up and the sketch from the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch Challenge gave me the inspiration for his birthday card.  I just know he’s going to love it!

Here’s the card I made:

And here’s the Paper Craft Crew’s banner that was my inspiration:
Welcome to the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch Challenge 196. Play along at www.papercraftcrew.com #papercraftcrew #cardsketch
You can see right off that I chose to use the swordfish from the From Land To Sea Stamp set instead of a butterfly.  I stamped him with VersaMark and then embossed him in silver.  I then used my Aquapainter to color parts of him Island Indigo.

Instead of the circle, I used a circular shape in Island Indigo cut with the new Swirly Scribbles Thinlets Dies.  You can purchase these dies on June 1st!

The sentiment is from the Guy Greetings Stamp Set.  I wanted it to look soft but still show up so I stamped and embossed it on vellum which I glued to Whisper White Cardstock.

I adhered these pieces to a retired square of DSP from the Adventure Bound Stack.

A shiny star and some Island Indigo splotches finish off my card.

I mounted the piece on its Island Indigo card base and called it done!

I can’t wait until he opens this card!

Lollipop, lollipop for Paper Players 296

Normally I only blog once a day, but today calls for a second post.  After posting this morning, Andrea Merlin, a fellow member of inKing Royalty said my balloon reminded her of the old fashioned lollipops she had as a kid.  Well, that comment has been in my head all day and I finally gave in and made a second card.  In case you missed this morning’s post, you can see it here.

Here is my lollipop card:

I think it turned out pretty cute and it still fits pretty well with the PP296 Challenge.  Here’s a picture of the challenge banner:
The candy part of the lolly is from the Playful Palette DSP Stack.  I chose the same piece as this morning to get the optimum circular swirls.  After cutting it with the Balloon Framelets Die, I stuck it to a plastic straw that I cut down to size.

The bag protecting the lolly is a small cellophane bag that I cut down even more.  I gathered it around the straw and tied it with a piece of baker’s twine.  I then added a Peekaboo Peach bow.

My sentiment is from the Me=Grateful Stamp set.  I stamped the sentiment in Emerald Envy and then cut it out with a Tags and Labels Framelets Die.

I mounted my lollipop on a piece of Peekaboo Peach piece of cardstock that I had embossed with the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder.  Then I mounted the finished piece on my Peekaboo Peach card base.

Glad I got that card idea out of my head!  Now if I could only forget the song!  “Lollipop, lollipop! Oh lolly lollipop…….”
