I’m like a kid when it comes to balloons. I love them in all shapes, sizes, and colors. I’m ecstatic that balloons are on trend right now and I plan to make the most of it when I create cards!
My card today is for the Paper Players 296 Sketch challenge. Here’s my card:
And here’s the Paper Players sketch that inspired my card:
My big balloon is at home in this sketch. The circle in the sketch is the focus for the card and my balloon is the focal point of my card.
The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the Playful Palette DSP Stack. I cut out the piece for my balloon from the center of the DSP. I loved how the swishes were circular in the center of the paper and had to have it for my card.
The other shape is the star from the new set Confetti Celebration. I stamped it in Peekaboo Peach and cut it out to add to the card.
The balloon and the bow were cut using the Balloon Framelets Dies. The Very Vanilla triangle tail is fussy cut by hand. (I know, I can’t believe I took the time to do it either. It was brutal. LOL)
I have a lot of friends that have birthdays soon. This baby will be in the mail soon!

My very special friend, Nancy has a birthday this weekend. Nancy deserves a special card not only because she is my friend, but because she is the one who turned me on to stamping. I don’t know how I would be spending my time and money if it weren’t for her introduction to stamping! Here’s a picture of my dear friend. (She would kill me if she knew I was posting a picture, but she refuses to use a computer so she will never know. Don’t you tell her!)
My birthday card uses Lost Lagoon because Nancy loves this color and is sad it’s leaving us. Here’s a picture of my card:
I’m so happy with the way it turned out.
I used Lost Lagoon as my card base. On Whisper White, I stamped the bottom and right side of my card in Pear Pizzazz with a stamp from Timeless Textures. I stamped off three times before I stamped my card. The upper left and top portion of my card were stamped with the filigree stamp from Timeless Textures, again stamping off three times before stamping my card.
On a separate piece of Shimmery White Cardstock, I stamped my flower from Birthday Blooms in Stazon Black. I then cut it out using my Brother’s ScanNCut. I watercolored the flower using my Aqua Painter. The center of the flower is painted in So Saffron. The leaves are watercolored with Pear Pizazz and Mossy Meadow. I glued the finished flower on my card.
I’ve had the sentiment for a long time. I think it’s from Verve. I stamped it in Stazon Black so it would match the flower.
To finish the card, I added a Lost Lagoon bow and a sprinkling of pearls.
I can’t wait to see her open her card! I think she’s really going to like it. Do you?

When you look at my card, you are going to think you are having deja vu. I loved the colors for the PPA challenge so much that I decided to use them again. Today I’m pairing the colors up with this week’s sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. Here’s my card:
Here is the banner for the FMS237 Challenge:
And the banner for the PPA301 Challenge:
I started with a Pool Party card base. On top of it, I layered Bermuda Bay cardstock, a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper and a Pool Party piece of DSP from the Cherry On Top DSP Paper Stack.
My sentiment was built using words from the Crazy About Stamp Set. It was cropped with the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelets Dies.
The sweet elephant (who never forgets a birthday) is from the new hostess set Love You Lots. I stamped him on Pool Party Cardstock and fussy cut him out. I used Dimensionals to pop him up on my card.
The elephant is holding a Crushed Curry balloon punched with the Balloon Punch. The balloon has a Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine string.
I can’t wait to give this pretty card to a special friend.

Today’s card was made for the Pals Paper Arts weekly challenge PPA301. This challenge is a color one and I LOVE the color combo- Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry and Pool Party! Here’s my card for the challenge:
Here’s the challenge banner from PPA:
How fun are these colors?! They make my eyes happy!
I started out with a Bermuda Bay card base. My card features the new Swirly Scribbles Thinlets Dies. These are so fun to play with! (Not like the swirly from my old school days! Do kids still do that?) Anyway, I made a swirly for each of the 3 colors. Before I glued them down, I sponged Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry under the respective swirlies. I then sponged the rest of the card lightly in Pool Party.
I added a piece of Bermuda Bay Washi Tape that’s been retired for a long time. I’m trying to clear out my stash of retired stuff. Above the tape, I added my sentiment from Endless Thanks in Basic Black.
I finished off my card with some Pool Party splotches made with a stamp from the Timeless Treasures Stamp Set.
It was a super easy card to make and the swirlies make a big statement!
Thanks for stopping by today. If you don’t have a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, I’d love to be yours!

Most of the time when I get my monthly Paper Pumpkin kit in the mail, I complete it just as the directions describe. I like the cards the way they are and it’s nice sometimes to just sit and not think too hard about crafting.
Today I strayed from the directions to try some new color combos. The stickers for the sentiment are in Pool Party so that stayed as one of the colors on each card. It was fun to see what I came up with and now I get to show you!
Pool Party, Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry
Pool Party, Emerald Envy and Dapper Denim
Pool Party, Sweet Sugarplum and Marina Mist
Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo and Rich Razzleberry
Pool Party, Peekaboo Peach and Dapper Denim
Which is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below!

The weather in Pennsylvania has been dreary but when I walked outside this morning I was treated to sunshine and blooming Iris. That’s when I knew I would be playing along with the Global Design Project Challenge. This week’s challenge is to CASE designer Paula Dobson’s creation, and her card used the Wild About Flowers Stamp Set. Yep, I was in the mood for flowers! Here is my card for the challenge:
And here is Paula’s card that I CASEd:
My card uses So Saffron for a card base. I then layered a piece of Calypso Coral on top of it.
I stamped the flowers from Wild About Flowers in Calypso Coral and So Saffron. I used Pear Pizzazz for the greenery.
The sentiment from Rose Wonder is also stamped in Pear Pizzazz.
The window box is cut using a framelet from the Hearth and Home dies. I added a bow made of twine from a leftover Paper Pumpkin to give the image a little pop.
I love the way my project turned out! I hope you do too. If so, give me a little love in the comments below or better yet, sign up to get my blog delivered to your inbox.
