I have a friend who spends most of the summer with his wife on their boat. He has a birthday coming up and the sketch from the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch Challenge gave me the inspiration for his birthday card. I just know he’s going to love it!
Here’s the card I made:
And here’s the Paper Craft Crew’s banner that was my inspiration:
You can see right off that I chose to use the swordfish from the From Land To Sea Stamp set instead of a butterfly. I stamped him with VersaMark and then embossed him in silver. I then used my Aquapainter to color parts of him Island Indigo.
Instead of the circle, I used a circular shape in Island Indigo cut with the new Swirly Scribbles Thinlets Dies. You can purchase these dies on June 1st!
The sentiment is from the Guy Greetings Stamp Set. I wanted it to look soft but still show up so I stamped and embossed it on vellum which I glued to Whisper White Cardstock.
I adhered these pieces to a retired square of DSP from the Adventure Bound Stack.
A shiny star and some Island Indigo splotches finish off my card.
I mounted the piece on its Island Indigo card base and called it done!
I can’t wait until he opens this card!
Happy stampin’,
Robin
What a great way to use this swordfish!!
You always come up with the most ingenious designs, Robin! This is fabulous! I predict a winner!
Perfect card for a fisherman, Robin! (he'll probably be hoping he catches such a fabulous fish!) I like how you put the Swirly Scribbles behind the fish. Thanks for joining our Paper Craft Crew challenge. ~Deborah
