I’m going to start off by saying that I find Clean and Simple card styles very difficult. Either I don’t make them simple enough or I make them so simple they are boring. I keep plugging away at it, though. One of these days I’m going to figure it out!
Today’s CAS is for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. The designers for this challenge have CAS down to a fine art! I recommend you hopping over there to take a look.
Here is my card for this week’s challenge.
And here’s the banner for the sketch I used for inspiration:
I tried to imitate the color block style I’ve noticed in home decor and clothing. My card base is new Peekaboo Peach. I added strips of Emerald Envy and Flirty Flamingo to match the sketch. I strayed from the sketch just a bit with the black strip. I had my strip go from card edge to card edge to complete my color block theme.
On the black strip, I stamped my sentiment from the Crazy About You stamp set in Whisper White Craft Ink and then embossed it with Whisper White powder.
The flower is from the same set and is stamped in Flirty Flamingo. I punched it out with the Flower Medallion punch. I added a pearl for a touch of bling.
To simple? I’m not sure. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
Happy stampin’
Robin
I love how you have taken the sketch and made a color-blocked card. Fabulous colors and that flower is gorgeous! Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
