In-Colors and Balloon Celebration for Stamp Ink Paper Challenge 47

I had so much fun creating my card for today!  I received the Balloon Celebration Bundle from my upline, Kelly DeTommaso, and had to create with it right away.  Here’s a look at my card:

Here’s the banner for the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge:
SIP One Element Wonder 47 800
So this week’s challenge is to pick one element that stands out on your card.  What’s better than a bunch of balloons as a focal point?

My balloons are all stamped using Stampin’ Up! new In-Colors.  I know I’ve said it before, but I love the boldness of these colors!  I used a bit of Wink of Stella on the stars of two of the balloons.

My beautiful balloon bouquet is flying in front of a some Soft Sky clouds.

My finished piece is layered on a piece of DSP from the new Playful Palette Paper Stack. The layered piece is then mounted on Very Vanilla on top of a Blushing Bride card base.

Hope you enjoyed your peek at the new products!

Grateful for my church family

My husband is a pastor at our small but vibrant church.  This is the time of year when the guiding body of the church gains new members and retires those that have served for three years,  It is always my joy to make Thank You cards for their service. I’d like to share one of them with you today.

I’m am trying to use up my current paper stash before I order new designer packs.  I used the Sale-A-Bration DSP, Wildflower Fields on my card today.

The ribbon is Blackberry Bliss which is retiring.

I stamped the sentiment using the Me=Grateful stamp set.  I’m so glad that this set is included in the new catalog.  I love the font and sentiments in this set!

The end result is a quick and easy card that I know will be appreciated.

Flirty Thank you for FMS 235

Today’s card is for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.  This week’s sketch is very simple and wide open.  I decided to keep my card simple as well.  But….there is a sneak peek of one of Stampin’ Up’s new In-colors!  Here’s my card:

The new In-Color is called Flirty Flamingo.  I think it lives up to its name!

I used the new color to ink up my Definitely Dahlia stamp.  Next, I sprayed the piece with silver Glitter Dust.  Trust me, it’s gorgeous even if it doesn’t show in the picture.

I took a Thank You woodcut and stamped it black.  I then sprayed it with a coat of clear acrylic spray to make it shiny.

The finished piece was mounted on black and then mounted on the Flirty Flamingo card base.

The card makes a BIG impact for such little work!  Hope you like it!  Please leave me a comment or better yet subscribe to get my blog delivered to your email in-box. :0)

Graduation Time

My husband and I are creatures of habit.  Every Sunday after church we head to the same restaurant and usually have the same waitress.  Shannon is a lovely young woman who is about to graduate from LaSalle University.  Of course, that calls for a graduation card and here it is:

LaSalle’s colors are dark blue and gold so I went with a Night of Navy card base and gold foil numbers. If you look closely, you can see that I embossed the front of the card with a retired embossing folder.   I die cut the numbers using the Large Numbers Framelets.

Isn’t the graduation hat on the zero cute?  I sketched it on the back of the gold foil paper and cut it out.  I made the tassel with embroidery thread.  It’s held in place with a gold brad.  The tassel is light blue because Shannon is an education major.

I hope Shannon likes her card!  What do you think?  Let me know in the comments below.

Happy birthday to someone special

Today I’m excited to show you a birthday card I made for a very special person.  Shannon West works at the Stampin’ Up! Corporate Office.  She is responsible for a new birthday card movement called #I’m Bringing Birthdays Back.  Shannon wants us to get away from the quick birthday hellos on Facebook and start sending cards again.  So I’m sending a card to Shannon for her May birthday.

To make things even more exciting, I’m making her birthday card with products from the new Annual Catalog!  Here’s my card:

I’m really happy with the way my shaker card turned out!    Hope you like it too!

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is called Playful Palette DSP Stack.

The stamped images are from the new stamp set Confetti Celebration and were stamped in Emerald Envy ink.

The acetate for the shaker was cut using a Tags and Labels Framelet.

I used the new Sprinkles Punch to punch out fun confetti shapes from the scraps of my DSP.  I threw them in with sequins to give my card something to shake.

If you are not a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, you can get your hands on these products now by joining my team!  Email me at rmyren.songbirddesigns1@gmail.com if you would like to know more.

I’m bicycling to the PP and PPA Challenges

This is the 2nd post from me today.  I’m feeling generous.  Actually, I realized the card for the Paper Players Challenge was due very soon so here I am again.  This card is double dipping into the Paper Players and Pals Paper Arts challenges.  One is a theme challenge and one is a sketch so I was able to do so.

Here is my card for the challenges.  The photo is a bit dark but the weather is dreary and even the light box didn’t make up for it.

Here are the banners from the challenges
Pals Paper Arts #PPA299

I’m a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator, but I had to go rogue for some of the card’s elements.  I didn’t have a Stampin’ Up! bicycle, but I did have a die from Memory Box that I cut out of gold paper for my card.

The Pear Pizzazz “road” came from the Butterfly Basics stamp set.

The sentiment is from the Project Life Remember This stamp set.  I die cut it and backed it with the Tags and Labels Framelets.

The Pink Pirouette flowers are a cut with a die from Impression Obsession.  It was a bit tedious gluing all those flowers on but I think it was worth it.  I was going for a Flower Power vibe and I like the way the flowers looked when finished.

I layered my card front on a piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock.  I then layered it on a Pink Pirouette card base.

I hope you enjoyed the extra post today!  Check back tomorrow to see the next new post!

Happy stampin’!
Robin
