In the Grove for Christmas in July

Hello!

I’m back!  I was in Iowa visiting family. (I live in Pennsylvania.)   It was nice to be back where I was raised.  However, I’m happy to return to my craft room.

I did a Christmas in July theme for all my classes this month. I’d like to share one of the cards we made.  I used the bundle, In The Grove.  This stamp set is not a dedicated Christmas bundle, but I believe it makes a beautiful holiday card when used with the cool colors in the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper.  What do you think?

It really isn’t hard to put together and could be mass produced easily.  There’s minimal stamping involved.

Here are the details

Materials needed
In the Grove Bundle
Grassy Grove Bundle (For deer die cut only)
Misty Moonlight Cardstock – 5 1/2in x 8 1/2in. scored at 4 1/2in.,  1 1/2in. x 5in.
Basic White Cardstock – 4in. x 5 1/4in.
Thoughtful Journey Designers Series Paper 6×6 – Trim to 4in x 5 1/4 in. Keep the larger remainder piece for the die cut.
Gray Granite and Copper Clay Cardstock scraps for the critters.
Misty Moonlight Ink Pad
Blackberry Bliss Ink Pad

Process
* Trim the Designer Series Paper to 4 in. on the short side and 5 1/4in. on the long side.  KEEP the remaining piece for the die cut.
* Place the Mountain Die at the top of the remaining DSP piece and die cut.

* Die cut the smaller Misty Moonlight piece with the tree outline die cut.  Place the die at the top of the piece and die cut.
* Die cut the Basic White piece with the birch trees die.
* Die cut the adorable critters (Side note-I was going to use the fox stamp and die cut.  When I was putting the animals on my card, Mr. Fox was staring hungrily at the poor bunny!  That’s why I substituted the equally adorable deer.)
* Stamp the mountain stamp on the purple part of the DSP using the Blackberry Bliss Stamp pad.
* Stamp a sentiment on the bottom of the white die cut piece.
* Adhere the mountain die cut piece and then the tree line die cut piece.
* Place your deer and adhere.
*Adhere the white die cut piece and then adhere the bunny and squirrel.
* Adhere the finished piece horizontally to the front of the card base.

That does it!  Thanks for stopping by!

Hey Good Lookin’

Hello!

I have been making birthday cards.  Four of my five grandkids have birthdays in May, June and July.  I bet between graduation and Memorial Day parties you have been busy too!  Well, I finally got a chance to sit and play in my happy place.  Today’s card uses three new products: the Summer Splash          In-Color, the Petunia Pop In-Color, the Saying Hey Stamp Set and the new, HUGE embossing folder, Dotted Circles. I’d love to show you what I did with them!

I used Summer Splash Cardstock for my base and and Summer Splash Ink for the sentiment.  The Basic White Cardstock was embossed with the Dotted Circles Embossing Folder.  I placed the piece in the upper right part of the folder.  This folder makes nice big impressions!

I then took a Blender Brush inked in Petunia Pop and highlighted the dots, darker at the top to lighter at the bottom.  The sentiments were inked and fussy cut.  You can’t tell from the photo, but the “hey” has Wink of Stella for some sparkle.

This card took no time at all to create.  Great for those parties you forgot you had!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello,
When I first saw the Wildly Flowering Suite Collection in the new catalog, I immediately fell in love with the paper.  Yes, I must confess I am a paper addict.  I went ahead and ordered the whole suite though, because I could, right?  Let me tell you, those stamps are as sweet as sweet can be!

I decided to play along with  Freshly Made Sketches today in order to show them off.  Below is my inspiration and my card:

Would you like the details?  Here they are!

Frog and Friends

Hi!

One of the many things about retirement is spending more time with the grandkids.  Hailey loves to craft and make cards so I rely on Stampin’ Ups! Online Kits a great deal.  We recently made up the Frog and Friends Kit.  This kit makes adorable animals that you use for a catching game.  There is a shark, fish and frog. The kit makes 3 of each character.

Hailey is eight.  This kit is perfect for kiddos that are that age or older.  She loves playing this game!  Here’s Hailey wearing her best fish face!
This kit is a must have if you have kids in your family!  I guarantee a good time!

Hugs!
Robin

P.S.  Can you please forward this to any crafty friends you have?  I’m trying to grow my audience. Thanks!
