Hello, Stampers

The card I have for you today is out of my comfort zone in a couple of ways.  It is for the Can You Case It challenge.  This week’s challenge is to use the colors black, red, white or neutral.
CYCI#105
Take a look at my card and then I’ll tell you how I stretched my cardmaking skills:

The background for my card uses Ken Oliver’s Color Burst powder.  It’s the first time I’ve played with this vibrant color, so that put me out of my comfort zone in a fun way.  I sprinkled a SMALL amount onto some Shimmer White Cardstock and spritzed it with a Stampin’ Spritzer filled with water.  I used my heat gun to move the color around on the paper and then totally blew it dry.  I was going for a blotchy look and I think I succeeded.

The second reason this card is different from most of my others is that there is no stamping on the card.  I used diecuts for the hearts and words.  It seemed so strange to not ink up a stamp!

It was fun to experiment with new approaches to cardmaking today!  I encourage you to try something new the next time you head to your craft room!

Happy stamping!
Robin
