Jun 17, 2020 | 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, Birthday, Blog Hops, Occasions |

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s June Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are enjoying a year of celebrations. This month’s projects celebrate the 4th of July – the projects are inspirational, patriotic and filled with reds, whites and blues. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
Who doesn’t enjoy a 4th of July celebration?! I have a friend who really loves the 4th because his birthday is on the same day as our country’s. He is a no fuss kind of guy, so I have made a quick and easy card for him. Here’s my card:

I chose the new stamp set, Happiest of Birthdays to take center stage on my card. The bold font hops right off of the card front!
My friend is going to like the color combo of Misty Moonlight, Whisper White and Real Red – traditional colors for this special holiday.
The Real Red background was created with the Buffalo Check background stamp. I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time getting the image of this stamp straight, even with the Stamparatus. Nothing looks worse than a crooked plaid! I also wanted the dark squares of the image around the outside. I got around it by inserting a 6 x 6 in. piece of Whisper White in the Stamparatus. I stamped the image and then trimmed to get the part of the image I wanted.
I popped up my sentiment with Dimensionals and added a couple of Star Designer Elements and that’s it! I think my friend will like his card and I hope you do too!
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Candy Ford at https://stampcandy.net/blog/. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!
Until next time, Robin

Jun 19, 2019 | 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Anniversary, Blog Hops, Come Sail Away Suite, Occasions |

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s June Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by a single word – and this month our projects are centered around NEW. With the launch of Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog, NEW gives us the opportunity to showcase new products and play with new colors. There are also new occasions (babies, weddings, graduations) to celebrate, so you are going to see a variety of projects in this hop. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
I am sharing a card made with the new Sailing Home Bundle. This bundle makes card design super easy! With all of the stamps, dies, DSP, and accessories the cards practically make themselves!
Here’s my card:

Here are the details:
- While most of the Designer Series Paper in this bundle features shades of blue, I used a piece that is Mossy Meadow.
- The card base is Soft Suede and the other neutral color is Very Vanilla.
- The compass and lighthouse are stamped in Soft Suede and die cut. The die cut wheel is also done in Soft Suede.
- The compass needle is die cut from a Copper Foil Sheet and attached to the compass with a brad. So fun!
- The sentiment is perfect because I’m giving this card to my handsome hubby for our anniversary.
- The last element is the Braided Linen Trim which I tied in a Sailor’s Knot and attached onto the back of the DSP. Super easy! Here’s a picture from Martha Stewart that shows you how to make the knot:
