Hey Good Lookin’

Hello!

I have been making birthday cards.  Four of my five grandkids have birthdays in May, June and July.  I bet between graduation and Memorial Day parties you have been busy too!  Well, I finally got a chance to sit and play in my happy place.  Today’s card uses three new products: the Summer Splash          In-Color, the Petunia Pop In-Color, the Saying Hey Stamp Set and the new, HUGE embossing folder, Dotted Circles. I’d love to show you what I did with them!

I used Summer Splash Cardstock for my base and and Summer Splash Ink for the sentiment.  The Basic White Cardstock was embossed with the Dotted Circles Embossing Folder.  I placed the piece in the upper right part of the folder.  This folder makes nice big impressions!

I then took a Blender Brush inked in Petunia Pop and highlighted the dots, darker at the top to lighter at the bottom.  The sentiments were inked and fussy cut.  You can’t tell from the photo, but the “hey” has Wink of Stella for some sparkle.

This card took no time at all to create.  Great for those parties you forgot you had!

Thanks for stopping by!

Wildflowers for Freshly Made Sketches 637

Hello,
When I first saw the Wildly Flowering Suite Collection in the new catalog, I immediately fell in love with the paper.  Yes, I must confess I am a paper addict.  I went ahead and ordered the whole suite though, because I could, right?  Let me tell you, those stamps are as sweet as sweet can be!

I decided to play along with  Freshly Made Sketches today in order to show them off.  Below is my inspiration and my card:

Would you like the details?  Here they are!

Have fun creating today!

Gardening the easy way with Stampin’ Up!

Hello!

When Spring comes, I start dreaming about a backyard garden.  I lovingly look through catalogs and purchase beautiful plants.  After planting, reality sets in.  Weeding……watering……and more weeding.  My dream turns into a nightmare!

This year will be different.  While I’m still planting things, I’m not planting the quantity that I have in years past.  I’m also planting more perennials so there will be even less to do next year.

What am I going to do in my spare time?  Make beautiful cards using all of the floral images in the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog!  Today I have a card for you that features the Thoughtful Journey Suite.  The Thoughtful Wishes Bundle in the suite includes stamps and dies that are beautiful and versatile. And you can’t make an ugly card using the Thoughtful Journey 6×6 Designers Series Paper Pack!

So simple!  Here’s the details:

Pieces and Parts:
Lost Lagoon Cardstock 133679, 2 pieces – 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4 in.  and 4 1/4 x 5 in.
Petunia Pop Cardstock 163801, 1 piece – 2 1/4 x 5 1/2
Thoughtful Journey Suite 163320
     Thoughtful Wishes Bundle 1663314
Thoughtful Journey 6×6 Designer Series Paper Pack 163303 – 1 piece
Petunia Pop Ink Pad 163811
Deckled Circles Dies 162286 LOW INVENTORY

Assembly:
* Die cut 3 circles from the Designer Series Paper using the 4th and 7th circles from the Deckled Circles.
* Adhere them to the smaller Lost Lagoon Cardstock piece.
* Die cut the thistle image from the Petunia Pop Cardstock using the thistle die cut .
* Adhere to the card panel.
* Stamp the sentiment using the Petunia Pop Ink Pad.
*Adhere the Gems.

That’s it!  I hope my card made you smile!
(Happy gardening if that’s your thing!)

That’s why they call it the Blues

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s July Blog Hop! We are embracing some (or all) of Stampin’ Up!’s beautiful blues for today’s hop – there are so many great ways to showcase the blues in the current color families! We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I’m so glad to be singing the blues today with you.  The two blues I chose to feature are Boho Blue and Night of Navy.  Of course, I turned to the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper for Inspiration.

I just love how these 2 blues work so well with one another!  The card base is Night of Navy as well as the sentiment strip.    The doily is made using the Delightful Doily Hybrid Embossing Folder.  I embossed a 4×4 in. piece of Boho Blue from the 2023-2025 In Color Luster Specialty Paper.  This paper just sparkles in a way you just can’t see from my photo.  Take my word for it, you NEED this paper!  I then used the coordinating die to cut my doily out.  After running it through my die cut machine a couple of times, it turned out beautifully.  I wanted a Night of Navy background so that the die cut doily would be more distinct.  I took a 4×4 piece of Night of Navy and cut it with the outline die, then adhered it to the back of the Boho Blue Doily.  I embossed the sentiment from Go To Greetings in white.  I finished the card with 2 dots from the 2023-2025 In Color Dots.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Sheryl Abernathy at Elegant Sentiments. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!

Have fun hopping!

InKing Royalty Bloggers are Thankful

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s November Blog Hop! November is a time of gratitude and thanksgiving, and we’ve made projects that say “thanks!” to special people in our lives. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I am thankful for where I grew up.  I lived on a small farm in Iowa and spent most of my time outside exploring creeks and playing Hide and Seek in the cornfields.  A favorite time for my sister and I happened after harvest was over, and the hunters would come to hunt pheasant.  At the end of the day, we were gifted some of the beautiful tail feathers of the birds.  Those feathers were many things.  Most of the time they became magic wands. Something that simple made us so happy.

My card today showcases the beautiful pheasant in the stamp set Painted Pheasant.
I painted my pheasant using daubers with the ink colors Cajun Craze, Coastal Cabana, and Merry Merlot.  The fallen leaves use the same three colors.  All of the stamped images were fussy cut and adhered to the front panel. The Merry Merlot card base was embossed with the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder.  The center section is a piece of Distressed Gold 12 x 12 Specialty Designer Series Paper.  The sentiment is stamped in Merry Merlot on Very Vanilla Cardstock and die cut using a die from the Joyful Flurry bundle.
